Heifer Show & Scholarship Program
Each year East Texas Louisiana Beefmaster Marketing Group sponsors a heifer show following the annual sale. This JBBA is one of the largest outside of the national show and draws junior breeders from several states. Casey Ballard manages our heifer show and scholarship program.
We began the scholarship program several years ago as out way of supporting the continuing education of JBBA members. It is funded by donated items from our members that are auctioned off before the sale each year. Our commitment is to sponsor at least two $500 scholarships every year, to be awarded at the annual JBBA National Convention.
Thanks to the generous support of our members, we were able to provide three scholarships in 2010, 2011, and 2012. In 2013, five scholarships totaling $5,000, were awarded to Junior members from East Texas Louisiana Beefmaster Marketing Group. In 2014, there were 5 scholarships, totally $3,000 awarded. We are very proud of our junior breeders and appreciative to our members for supporting this unique program.
